: : : : Avoiding Nail Fungus
Avoiding Nail Fungus
should be an automatic program in your mind. Something that in the end you don’t think of, you just do it. Many of us have had no experience with while we were growing up whatsoever, and those ugly ads with nasty didn’t help us learn any proper prevention. I kind of blocked the nail fungus with its nasty images from my mind. That was until the problem came very close to me…
Some years ago, a relative of mine had to deal with nail fungus. For those of you who haven't had this umpleasant experience, the healing process Is very long, it takes several months for the nail to heal. While being treated, it is common that the nail fungus tries to spread again, so treatment should be applied daily. Nail fungus is a really embarrassing problem, and it becomes even more embarrassing in summer time when everyone wants to go swimming but those suffering from this nasty infection.
After whitnessing that, I came to the conclusion that nail fungus is more common than we might think. I then decided to get informed on . I surprisingly found out that to occur is very easy, but we often overlook avoiding situations that put us at risk. Here are the best things you can do to try and avoid nail fungus to ruin some months of your precious life:
Nail fungus likes to live in warm moist environments. So if you wear sneakers or shoes all say, it would be a very good idea to let your feet breath every now and then. If you’re in your house it is easy, if you’re outside and you have to wear shoes, go to a bathroom for a while and take them off along with your socks, then go back to the world.
Nail fungus appears most of the times on hot places. In these hot places, you will often find pools, public showers... for people to refresh. It is on those very places that the risks are at their maximum. What can you do then?
After going to a pool, wash your feet and hands thouroughly with soap. It is better if you use an anti bacteria soap. If you intend to use a public shower, don't forget to keep your sandals on as public showers host huge numbers of the bacteria responsible of nail fungus because they provide the perfect environment for them to develop. It is by the way how a friend of mine got infected.
As you may have noticed, preventing from nail fungus and other similar infection isn't hard, it just takes a few precautions, I would say it is common sense. However most of us, including me often neglect these recommendations.
Prevention will certainly help avoid infection in 95% of cases, if you have already experienced nail fungus or have a very fragile skin / health and you are looking for a 100% protection, I recommend you also use anti-fungal powder for your feet and shoes on a daily basis.
